“Abbiamo bisogno di cambiare, di evolvere”.
Così il leader dei National, Matt Berninger, ha definito quella che sarà la strada che vorranno intraprendere per l’album che farà da seguito al loro sesto lavoro in studio Trouble Will Found Me.
Il gruppo, che sarà in Italia a Pistoia in luglio (ne parliamo qui), ha intenzione di cambiare rotta per mantenere vivo l’interesse sul loro operato.
Nell’intervista rilasciata al The Indipendent, Berninger ha aggiunto:
“Some of the songs feel quite different. There were ones being kicked around that felt like the best version of that kind of song we’ve ever done, but we’ve done it before – even if it’s the best National song I’m not sure if we need another great ‘National song’ – I’d rather try to do some other stuff and fall on our face than make another record that is interchangeable. Not that I think that of the other records but I know we need to change, we need to evolve.”
In questi giorni, intanto, durante un live hanno eseguito una nuova canzone intitolata Roman Candle, che sicuramente farà parte del nuovo album e potete ascoltare qui.
Noi non possiamo che dirci entusiasti nell’attendere questo nuovo lavoro, sul quale ancora non abbiamo dettagli precisi, se non le poche informazioni riportate qui.
