Shane Meadows ha detto che vorrebbe realizzare una stagione di This is England ambientata negli anni 2000. Il regista inglese lo dichiarato su YouTube ai microfoni di Andrew Shim’s Shimmy Corona Diaries Ch.2:

I don’t know when but I’ve got This Is England ’00 in my head, the millennium one. I sort of thought it would be nice, because when did we shoot the last one? Was it 2015, 2016?

Il film che dato il via alla saga era stato presentato al Toronto International Film Festival nel settembre 2006 ed era ambientato nel luglio del 1983, a questo hanno fatto seguito le serie televisive This Is England ’86, This Is England ’88 e This Is England ’90.
