I Vampire Weekend faranno uscire il nuovo album (Modern Vampires of The City) il prossimo mese, questo ormai lo sanno anche le casalinghe di Voghera. Di recente, si sono fatti notare per aver infastidito la pericolosa categoria degli appassionati delle Saab, che si sono incazzati come delle iene dopo aver visto il video di Diane Young, dove viene data alle fiamme un modello dello storico marchio svedese.

Visto lo sdegno suscitato, quella culandra di Ezra Koenig è intervenuto sulla questione, cercando di gettare acqua sul fuoco (anche se le Saab erano ormai carbonizzate):
“I don’t even have anything snarky to say about this one, i’m just gonna go off somewhere and be sad for a while. I want people to understand that we do respect cars and the last thing we want to do is to fuck up a collector’s item or something like that, hopefully people believe me when I say that our record label was looking to purchase the cheapest, oldest cars possible; they weren’t trying to buy a beautiful perfect condition car.
If the people selling their cars felt mislead by the production company that bought them… of course if we had been there, if we had been a part of it we would never lie to somebody just to get a car — we could have easily found something else.
Stuff like that, we hope that that wasn’t done dishonorably.”
Insomma è scoppiato un casino.
