Noel Gallagher pubblicherà il suo nuovo album per il prossimo giugno.
A confermarlo lo stesso Noel ad un’intervista a BBC Radio 6, dove ha definito i termini del successore del suo Chasing Yesterday del 2015:
I think we’re into the home straight now. I’ve been given the deadline which is to have everything finished – mastered, artwork, videos, the lot – done by the time I go to Glastonbury in June.
Gallagher starebbe lavorando col produttore David Holmes, già compositore di varie colonne sonore di film molto famosi, e col quale sembra che Noel tenesse molto a lavorare. Ha iniziato a scrivere l’album in Irlanda e, stando a ciò che dice, non con il suo classico modus operandi:
So I started this record at his house in Belfast. The process is the complete opposite to the way that I’ve always worked. With this, you have no idea what you’ve got until it’s there, and the end results are great because they’re constantly evolving.
Sul disco in sé, è lo stesso Holmes ad essersi pronunciato, anticipando che moltissimi saranno colpiti da quanto saranno più leggere e divertenti le canzoni dell’album, del quale già cinque canzoni sarebbero pronte:
People are going to be surprised. I think people love Noel and they’re desperate for him to make a really big, bold, uptempo beast of a record – a lot of Noel’s music is quite mid-tempo. This one is quite fun.
Ci aspetta un anno, il 2017, da vivere sotto il segno dei fratelli Gallagher.
Nell’attesa sempre più spasmodica per una eventuale reunion degli Oasis stessi.
