Gli Editors sono cambiati, non ci è ancora dato sapere se in meglio o in peggio. Il nuovo album, ancora senza titolo, dovrebbe uscire entro il 2015 ma abbiamo già potuto ascoltare qualcosa con il primo estratto No Harm.
Oggi tocca invece a Marching Orders, che ci consegna una band (fortunatamente) diversa rispetto al precedente The Weight Of You Love, con decisamente più melodramma e meno epicità da stadio. Il video, diretto ancora una volta da Rahi Rezvani, si muove in bilico tra le mossettine di Tom Smith e un’inquietante abbondanza di grigi.

Gli Editors hanno trovato un modo interessante per farvi avere uno dei 300 test pressings del loro nuovo singolo (in vinile) e contemporaneamente aiutare le persone che muoiono di fame. Come? Basta acquistarne una copia in uno dei negozi Oxfam sparsi per l’Inghilterra, il Belgio o la Germania (magari vivete lì, o siete studenti erasmus, o dovete andarci per svago, chissà), e i guadagni di questa iniziativa andranno totalmente ad Oxfam. In questo modo potrete aiutare qualcuno, oltre a possedere una vera e propria rarità della vostra band del cuore. Di seguito il comunicato ufficiale della band, bravi Editors!
“We have gifted 300 hand stamped 12” test pressings of Marching Orders to Oxfam. These records have been randomly placed and can be found in select Oxfam stores in the UK, Germany and Belgium. All profits from these records will go straight to Oxfam! In the spirit of fairness, if you find multiple copies in your local Oxfam, please consider buying only one! For those without a local Oxfam store or who can’t find one of these limited test pressings, there will be other ways to buy the track soon.
We’ve been supporters of Oxfam’s amazing, vital work for many years, from supporting their Oxfam unwrapped campaign back in Xmas 2007, performing at Oxjam gigs and also hosting Oxfam campaigners on our tours to help raise funds and spread the word about the charity with our fans.”
