È uscita circa una settimana fa la prima traccia estratta da Amok, debut album del nuovo progetto solista di Thom Yorke. Il brano si intitola Judge Jury and Executioner e potete guardarne il video qui sotto.
Il disco invece uscirà il 25 Febbraio per la XL Recordings, ma intanto Yorke e uno dei suoi compagni degli Atoms For Peace, il produttore Nigel Godrich, hanno rilasciato per la rivista inglese Dazed & Confused (nel cui numero compaiono delle foto creepyssime di Thom come quella che vedete qui su), un mix di brani inediti e remix che potete ascoltare qui.
Pare inoltre che il buon Thom non sia l’unico dei Radiohead a tenersi impegnato ultimamente. Il più vecchio dei fratelli Greenwood (Colin) ha fatto sapere via Dead Air Space (blog ufficiale della band) che si recherà in Sudafrica per 11 giorni per lavorare con l’associazione Children’s Radio Foundation, la quale si occupa di insegnare ai giovani africani tecniche di giornalismo e giornalismo radiofonico. Colin nel suo post, dove parla del lavoro che andrà a svolgere con la fondazione, scrive ciò:
I’m very excited to be going, and I hope you will enjoy following my journey on the site. I’m working with CRF because I’ve always believed in the importance of curiosity, and I grew in a home that was passionate about ‘ Radio ‘, as a window to the world outside. In my day job as a musician, I’ve always loved travelling, meeting people, and making connections with them about all our lives. CRF does all of this this brilliantly, through its radio and journalism training. CRF informs and enlightens everyone’s lives – the reporter, interviewee, and the listener, wherever they may be. I’ll also be checking out some music too, so keep an eye on the site!
