Gli Arctic Monkeys sono tornati lo scorso maggio con il nuovo disco Tranquility, Base Hotel & Casino, di cui vi abbiamo ampiamente parlato qui.
Intervistati recentemente da Matt Wilkinson di Beats 1 in occasione dell’Osheaga Festival, Alex Turner e Matt Helders (il batterista), hanno dichiarato di stare già pensando al seguito dell’ultimo album, e della possibilità di collaborare, per l’occasione con Kevin Parker dei Tame Impala.
You know, again I don’t know, we’ve not quite reached a conclusion on what we’re gonna do but, I’d like to, yeah, I’ve really been enjoying playing this one on the road and that excitement of playing together could lead to jumping back in the studio. Whereas, like when we made this Tranquility Base one, that wasn’t coming off the back of a tour.
Riguardo Kevin Parker, Turner ha fatto capire la sua voglia di aprire ad un lavoro insieme:
What I would say is, if that is the case, it’s sort of inherent in us making music together. To the point where we wouldn’t notice that we were trying to do it.
Proprio poco tempo fa, Kevin Parker aveva parlato di un nuovo album in lavorazione per i Tame Impala, in cui potrebbe esserci proprio una collaborazione con Alex Turner. Incalzato sulla questione, Turner è stato breve ma deciso:
