Il prossimo 23 ottobre Adrianne Lenker, frontman dei Big Thief, rilascerà per 4AD due album intitolati songs e instrumentals. In attesa della pubblicazione, è stato rilasciato il singolo dragon eyes accompagnato dal video girato dalla stessa cantautrice di Indianapolis.
Dopo che il tour dei Big Thief è stato interrotto a causa della Covid-19, la Lenker ha iniziato a registrare i brani che compongono gli album insieme a Philip Weinrobe. L’americana con un comunicato ha dichiarato:
I grew really connected to the space itself. The one room cabin felt like the inside of an acoustic guitar—it was such a joy to hear the notes reverberate in the space.
