I Queens Of The Stone Age hanno finalmente pubblicato il settimo album in studio.
Villains è stato prodotto da Mark Ronson, co-prodotto da Mark Rankin e mixato da Alan Moulder. Il nuovo disco è composto da 9 brani ed è stato anticipato dai singoli The Way You Used to Do e The Evil Has Landed.

La collaborazione con Mark Ronson è nato dalla volontà di ricreare lo stesso suono di Uptown Funk, che dovrebbe essere come una sorta di variazione sul tema di Songs For The Deaf:
If you listen to “Uptown Funk”, you hear that tight, kind of vacuous dry sound, and that’s where I wanted to take this new Queens record. I wanted it to be like our record Songs for the Deaf, but looking at it with goggles on underwater – that kind of clarity. Also, he’s as obsessed with drum beats as I am.
Josh Homme ha poi aggiunto:
The title Villains isn’t a political statement. It has nothing to do with Trump or any of that shit. It’s simply 1) a word that looks fantastic and 2) a comment on the three versions of every scenario: yours, mine and what actually happened… Everyone needs someone or something to rail against—their villain—same as it ever was. You can’t control that. The only thing you can really control is when you let go.
