Il prossimo 29 maggio, Régine Chassagne e Win Butler degli Arcade Fire riceveranno dal governo del Québec un riconoscimento per il contributo culturale e sociale, che in oltre quindici anni di carriera, hanno reso alla provincia canadese di provenienza e non solo.
Il governo dell Québec nominerà Regine e Win “Companions of Quebec’s Order of Arts and Letters”, nel comunicato si legge che l’onorificenza verrà assegnata alla coppia per:
outstanding contributions to the diversity and vitality of Québec culture.
Marie Coté, il capo dell’Ordine, ha dichiarato che ogni vincitore del premio:
Contributed to Quebec’s reputation for excellence at home and at the international level. By placing their talents and passions at the service of their art and by committing themselves to their communities and to the development of their respective disciplines, they have bequeathed to us the richest and most valuable heritage of all: a culture to be shared.
In passato il premio, tra i tanti, è stato assegnato anche a Leonard Cohen, Xavier Dolan e Denis Villeneuve.
