Anderson .Paak sta tornando.
In una recente intervista con Rolling Stone, il rapper ha svelato che entro fine 2018 il suo nuovo album, Oxnard, vedrà la luce.
Dopo l’enorme successo di Malibu, .Paak ci tiene a dire che è rimasto umile, e che la voglia di musica è sempre la stessa:
Everything we made for Malibu, we made from the dirt. We had the bare minimum. Now, it’s trying to keep that same mentality, but when you have everything. When you’ve been eating calamari and lobster, when you’ve been going to festivals and playing for 40,000 people. You finally have a tour bus. You have two kids now, and a wife to support. You’re trying to keep the same principles you had when you just had a couch. When you go everywhere, you just hold on to the things that made you.
Oxnard verrà pubblicato per la Aftermath Entertainment di Dr. Dre, e completerà la “beach series” iniziata con Venice e passata per Malibu. Dr. Dre ha agito da produttore esecutivo dell’album, che vede la collaborazione di un altro storico rapper: Madlib.
Il nuovo album suonerà psichedelico e ambizioso, ispirato a The Blueprint di Jay-Z e The College Dropout di Kanye West.
