Si è conclusa nella notte la 61esima edizione dei Grammy Awards, mentre in Italia ancora si festeggiava Mahmood e la sua Soldi. Un’edizione a tinte rosa che sotto la conduzione di Alicia Keys ha visto la partecipazione, tra le altre, di Michelle Obama, ma soprattutto le vittorie del blocco femminile che ha trionfato in quasi tutte le categorie.

I premi sono arrivati non solo per le annunciate Dua Lipa, St. Vincent (insieme sul palco anche per un duetto) Lady Gaga e Cardi B, ma anche per il pop di Ariana Grande, per H.E.R. con il miglior album R&B e per Ella Mai per la miglior canzone R&B, mentre quello più ambito di tutti è andato a Kacey Musgraves che ha vinto con Golden Hour l’album dell’anno battendo Drake, Post Malone e Kendrick Lamar.

Tra gli uomini, invece, vittoria come da copione per Drake con God’s Plan e Childish Gambino recordman assoluto di serata, il quale, con This is America, si è portato a casa il grammofono d’oro per: disco dell’anno, canzone dell’anno, miglior performance e miglior video. Premi anche per Beck (miglior album alternativo); Justice (miglior album elettronico) e Kendrick Lamar, che con James Blake, Future e Anderson .Paak trionfa come best performance.

Una serata che si è chiusa con qualche polemica, vedi alla voce Ariana Grande che ha criticato la mancata vittoria del suo ex fidanzato Mac Miller deceduto lo scorso anno o la mancata citazione di XXXTentacion nel tributo agli artisti scomparsi nel 2018.

 

Ma oltre alle polemiche, ai tweet ed agli assenti, questa edizione ci conferma che la musica black (che sia rap o r&b) ha letteralmente surclassato tutti i competitors, mentre – viceversa – la musica rock cerca di sopravvivere, sperando che il vento della moda cambi presto direzione.
