Dopo tre album, nel 2012 gli australiani Jet annunciarono il loro scioglimento:
After many successful years of writing, recording and touring we wish to announce our discontinuation as a group. From the many pubs, theatres, stadiums and festivals all across the world it was the fans that made our amazing story possible and we wish to thank them all. Thank you, and goodnight.
Si sa che, però, poche sono le cose davvero certe a questo mondo.
Così, è con profonda mestizia che vi annunciamo il loro ritorno dopo appena 5 anni, un ritorno la cui colpa è da attribuire a Simone Cogo, noto ai più come Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo.
L’infausta collaborazione è nata mentre stava lavorando a nuove canzoni, come ha spiegato lui stesso con un inspiegabile entusiasmo:
I knew this song needed a certain rock tone… a tone like Nic Cester of Jet had. We thought instead of someone ‘like Nic Cester,’ how about we get the real Nic Cester! Thinking he would be in Australia, it was fate that he lived just a couple hours away from me in Italy. I found him. We worked together, ate together, drank together and created something very powerful together. Around this time the Jet guys stared talking and thinking about getting back together, when Nic shared this with his bandmates, the idea came up to have ALL of Jet involved. Because of our different influences, we had different ideas on the mixing and from that we came up with two versions. It’s the best of both our worlds!
Quindi adesso dobbiamo pupparci non una, ma due versioni della stessa canzone, una ROOOOOCK e l’altra EDM.
Ci scusiamo con tutti voi, perché capiamo che già si fa fatica a vivere col caldo che fa e notizie del genere non aiutano di certo a vivere meglio.
