Due dei barboni più amati dagli indie kids degli anni ’00, Sam Beam e Ben Bridwell, rispettivamente portabandiera di Iron & Wine e Band Of Horses, fonderanno presto le loro barbe per partorire un progetto parecchio interessante – anch’esso con la barba, chiaro.
Si intitolerà Sing Into My Mouth e tratta di un LP composto da sole cover, partendo dai Talking Heads, passando per gli Spiritualized e finendo con El Perro Del Mar. Insomma, una tracklist (in fondo alla pagina) ricca e variegata, che spazia tra diversi generi – e sottogeneri – musicali, che forse prova per l’ennesima volta il fatto che i musicisti con la barba siano prima di tutto dei conoscitori e amanti della musica.
A proposito di questa collaborazione, Sam ha infatti dichiarato:
Ben and I started our careers together and had been threatening to work with one another for years. When we finally conceived of the covers project and carved out some time, it was nostalgic and fun from top to bottom – the process of picking the songs to cover was really reminiscent of more than 15 years ago when we used to mail each other cassettes and CDs of music we were into – and the end of every recording day found us cutting up with friends the way we used to when we’d cross paths in South Carolina. He’s always been one of the funniest people I know.
