Ad un anno fa risale la notizia secondo cui Jason Lytle, leader dei Grandaddy, si sarebbe dovuto occupare della produzione del nuovo album dei Band Of Horses.
Non abbiamo più ricevuto alcuna conferma sino ad oggi, stando alle ultime dichiarazioni del frontman Ben Bridwell in un’intervista rilasciata al blog spagnolo Binaural (se ablate español, eccone la versione integrale).
A proposito della collaborazione con Lytle nell’LP, dice:
“I think it’s close to Infinite Arms. It has some density to it, in fact I think it’s even more dense than Infinite Arms. The album was produced by Jason Lytle, who was a member of the band Grandaddy. If you listen to his band you’ll see that they’re very cinematic, very symphonic. It was very cool to trust in him. It will be a very dense record.
L’uscita del disco è prevista per la prossima primavera, nonostante Bridwell ritenga si tratti di un album più adatto all’autunno, lamentandosi che non sia pronto già per questo novembre:
“It’s almost all done. After finishing an unplugged tour in Zurich, I’ll spend two weeks at home to be with my family. All that’s left is one small vocal part of a track, that’s it.”
Il missaggio è stato affidato a Dave Fridmann, già collaboratore di Flaming Lips e MGMT. Non resta che attendere qualche mese per scoprire l’opera finita.
