Tempi duri richiedono risposte dure. E quale musica meglio del post-punk per fare da colonna sonora di un mondo che crolla? Soprattutto se arriva dall’Inghilterra o, come in questo caso, dalla verde Irlanda.
Abbiamo apprezzato enormemente i dublinesi Fontaines D.C. lo scorso anno grazie al potente debutto Dogrel, ma sapevamo da tempo che la band non era rimasta con le mani in mano, mettendosi già al lavoro per il sophomore, annunciato quest’oggi.
A Hero’s Death, questo il titolo, uscirà il prossimo 31 luglio su Partisan Records. Il titolo dell’album è ispirato da uno spettacolo dello scrittore irlandese Brendan Behan, ed è anche il titolo del primo singolo estratto, che il cantante Grian Chatten ha presentato così:
The song is a list of rules for the self, they’re principles for self-prescribed happiness that can often hang by a thread. It’s ostensibly a positive message, but with repetition comes different meanings, that’s what happens to mantras when you test them over and over.
