Ormai il nuovo album degli Strokes è un miraggio, e con questo caldo non sembra neanche così improbabile.
Il successore di Comedown Machine e dell’EP Future Present Past è ormai in cantiere da due anni, e apparentemente i lavori procederebbero spediti, stando alle dichiarazioni di Albert Hammond Sr. (padre del chitarrista della band) al The West Australian:
They’re making a new album now with a great producer called Rick Rubin. I speak to my son every day and he says that they’re so happy.
Insomma, non solo i lavori procedono a gonfie vele, ma al fianco della band c’è anche uno dei produttori più importanti di tutti i tempi. Insomma, hype da vendere.
UPDATE: è arrivata una smentita ufficiale, affidata ad Albert Hammond Jr., che ha ammesso l’incontro con Rubin ma affermato che il nuovo album degli Strokes potrebbe arrivare tra anni.

We met and played a few music ideas for Rick to feel out a vibe but even a theoretical album plan would be years away, if at all.
