Ci troviamo sempre a dire le stesse cose, ma è vero: i National non stanno mai fermi e questa volta è il turno di Matt Berninger.
Il frontman della band americana sta scrivendo una serie TV sulla sua vita assieme a sua moglie e a suo fratello, Tom Berninger, l’autore del documentario Mistaken For Strangers. Il progetto è noto da tempo, ma solo adesso sono stati scritturati il filmmaker australiano Trent O’Donnell e sua moglie. Lo show sarà prodotto da Aaron Dessner.
Berninger durante la recente intervista con Double J, radio australiana, ha rivelato che lo show avrà gli stessi toni comici del documentario, ma avrà una sceneggiatura e sarà meno all’impronta:
We’re hoping it’s a comedy! It’s something we’ve been cooking for a while. The prospective show has a lot of the same tone as Mistaken for Strangers, but this, it’s more scripted than that is, and it’s not a film Tom’s making. Tom is just a subject of it. It’s not a fake documentary.
Sulla trama invece:
I play myself and my brother plays my brother—Tom plays Tom, and Tom can’t play anybody else—but then the rest of it’s all cast. And I’m in a band. Actually, Aaron helped cast the band with all the guys that were working on the Grateful Dead project together, and so it’s a bunch of guys from different bands that we’ve known and been friends with for a long time who play the band. And Aaron [Dessner] kind of is in it as a producer, sort of as himself but not really.
Ma per la release dovremo aspettare ancora molto:
It won’t see the light of day this year, so, that’s how far along it is.
