Una nuotata in piscina, un dolore al torace, la corsa in ospedale, il ritorno a casa e la morte nella notte tra l’11 ed il 12 settembre 2014. Andrea Marongiu, batterista cagliaritano di trentatré anni della band ispanico-britannica Crystal Fighters, morì stroncato da un infarto.
Lo scorso 29 settembre i Crystal Fighters hanno annunciato la pubblicazione di Everything Is My Family, terzo album disponibile dal 21 ottobre in formato digitale e dal 28 in CD e LP. Il disco è stato preceduto dalla pubblicazione di All Night, Ways I Can’t Tell e Good Girls.
A due giorni dalla release è stato rilasciato Lay Low, brano dedicato, con il seguente comunicato, al batterista scomparso:
This is a new song dedicated to all of our family, friends, and supporters along the way, but specifically for Andrea, our old drummer who passed away. The song is a reminder of how momentary and magical this life is, and to appreciate the beauty in all things and relationships… and if possible, to use your power to spread love, rather than add to the rabid negativity on Earth.
