L’hype attorno ad A$AP Rocky si è ormai affievolito da un po’, anche perché sono passati ben 3 anni dall’ultimo album AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP e in mezzo abbiamo avuto solo tracce sparse e parecchie collaborazioni.
Non preoccupatevi però, A$AP sta per tornare e vuole sfidare i propri ascoltatori, vuole che crescano con lui. Il nuovo album, infatti, dovrebbe uscire quest’anno, e sarà qualcosa di molto diverso dal solito:
I wanna take a different approach and challenge the viewer whose tired of hearing the same old shit. This shit is cliché at this point. I’m trying to test my viewers and listeners to see if they ready to grow with me.
Il rapporto con i suoi fan rimane fondamentale, così come il trarre continuamente ispirazione dalle influenze esterne, cruciali per la musica di Flacko:
This is going to be an amazing fucking album. I’m going to hopefully change a lot of people’s lives again, and hopefully people will make better music, and inspire me to make even better music
Un ultimo, fondamentale passaggio è dato dalle collaborazioni. Rocky vuole mettersi al lavoro con Morrissey su qualcosa ispirato agli Smiths:
I might have to fuck with Morrissey on some Smiths shit. Make some emo, real, retro-infusion, motherfuckin’ 2018 shit, man.
