Col mixtape #11 torniamo fuori dai confini nazionali: protagonisti sono, infatti, i Lust For Youth, progetto nato grazie al talentuoso Hannes Norrvide, oggi consistente in un trio.
L’ultimo loro disco, International, ci è piaciuto tantissimo ed è stato naturale chiedergli nuovo materiale, altra musica, un mixtape coi loro brani preferiti.
Le loro scelte sono state molto azzardate, sicuramente originali e di livello altissimo: si parte con un pezzo dei Duran Duran, si passa per artisti come Swans, Tim Hecker, Shifted e Simple Minds, per finire con un pezzo targato Porter Ricks.
Ci tengono a spiegarci alcune scelte, vogliono svelarci i perchè: noi lasciamo siano loro a parlare.
Ad esempio, Inga Kläder, brano di Veronica Maggio, che fa da titolo per il mixtape, è stato inserito perchè “Veronica is a very important influence on Lust For Youth, a few years back Loke and I went to a festival in Malmö to see her play. It was us and 10000 teenage girls screaming, we did as well of course. Recently we were in Russia and this girl wanted to give us tattoos, I decided of course to get a Veronica Maggio tattoo.”.
Mentre, Motor City di Sand Circles l’hanno scelta perchè “In 2011 we were on the ferry from Stockholm to Tallinn with Sand Circles. It was a bizarre trip with guys throwing bottles and flashing knives, russian teens dancing to a Lady Gaga cover band and a piano bar where people were trying to find love. Every time I hear Martins work I start to think about that weekend and how great it was.”.
